Hi. This is me. My name is Allison, I'm 25 years old. I've been married to a wonderful man for 7 years and we have two children ages 3 and 4.

Here is everything you might want to know about me and my website:
I don't think that I started this website with any real goal in mind. People wanted my recipes, I thought, "Wouldn't it be great if I told them, 'it's on my website'." I wanted to have photos of the kids and I wanted to start writing about my life. I really became a blogger before I even knew what a blogger was. It's sort of grown from there. I'd probably fit into a few categories: mommy blogger or knit blogger. But I prefer to think of this website as an internet view of me. The website is powered by Wordpress and hosted by my wonderful husband. I designed the layout and he made it work.

I usually write about what's going on in my life or in my head. That can vary from cleaning up soup off the floor because my 2 year old decided to splatter paint with it, to my countless knitting projects, to my struggle to find a spiritual home that rejects religion as I do. And everything in between. I often have very strong words to say about subjects that pique my passion. But, while I have high standards, I try to hold those only for myself. My biggest life lesson over the past few years has been learning to be more open minded. I don't think that any human being can be completely open minded, but I think it's important to strive to be so. I think that it's possible to be accepting of all and judging of none but still hold on to spiritual and moral views.

When I first got married, I was fresh out of high school, working at a job that wouldn't lead to a carreer and adjusting to my new life. My husband remarked countless times that he wished I'd find a hobby. I think he now regrets those wishes as I've taken over the house with my knitting. What can I say? I'm addicted. In August 2006, I opened a yarn store here in Western Colorado called Tangle. I am so blessed that what I love is also my profession! Operating Tangle has brought me so much joy and has touched my life in more ways that I can imagine. Knitting is something that I see myself doing for the rest of my life. If only because I'm accumulating a yarn stash so large that it may take the rest of my life to knit it!

Having the kids has been life altering, especially making the transition from one kid to two. It was hard and I can't say that I've always handled all of it with the grace I'd like to wish I have. But as they've gotten older, it's gotten easier. Maybe there's more children for us in the future, the very distant future.

Eden is four years old, going on 17. She is very smart, she can write her name and her brothers name and she spends a lot of time perfecting her coloring skills. I just taught her to knit and she is picking it up really well. I'm surprised at her maturity sometimes. She's also ALL girl. She loves playing dress up and playing with her dolls. She's looking forward to her 5th birthday when she can have Barbies. Her favorite candy is a candy necklace.

Honor is three. And boy is he a three year old boy. I think his favorite thing in the whole world is making messes. We call him the demolition expert or Destruct-o-con. At least we know he will always be able to find work. Honor really likes collecting things. He'll gather up a whole handful of "treasures" and cart them around in a little box. He really likes cars, Batman and his sandbox. He's mostly grown out of it, but he REALLY enjoyed the toilet in his younger days. His favorite candy is the kind he sneaks out of the cupboard.

Jim just turned 31. He owns a Graphic Design company, specializing in web design. He is an amazing guitar player and is currently playing at one of the churches in town. He is our leading expert on Apple computers and is very proud that every computer we have is a mac. He likes playing games on his computer, going camping, and cheese dip... a lot. He's not terribly picky when it comes to food, he just happens to hate everything I like, such as zucchini, tofu and edamame. See his ratings system for a detailed explanation. His favorite candy is Bit-o-Honey.

We recently got a cute little Beagle puppy. His name is Tuck. He chews my yarn and pees on the floor. But I like him anyway.

What else can I say about me? I like sushi, crazy jewelry, Martha Stewart, a good haircut and, did I mention, knitting? I don't like being interrupted, dentists, and cleaning the bathroom. My favorite candy is anything fruity and chewy with a little chocolate on the side.
