Food, food and more food

I’m still using the Mini. Isn’t it amazing how much we grow to love our computers?

Now don’t anyone fall over or anything, but I actually just posted my menu for this week, so go check it out. And yes, I know it’s halfway through the week already, but something is better than nothing right?

We’ve really been slackers about planning Thanksgiving, but we finally got which family members we’re spending it with arranged. We’re hosting dinner at our house and I’d like to come up with some different yet traditional-ish dishes. Usually we have turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, refrigerator rolls (yum!), cranberry sauce, 7up salad, green bean casserole and of course(!) pie. Lots and lots of pie. I’d like to at least change up the side dishes. Anyone wanna post your Thanksgiving menus?

Let me know how the mustard chicken is! When I figure out Thanksgiving, I’ll post mine too.

We’re goin’ out of town, so whatever our menu is, is a mystery! Sometimes it’s interesting to eat other people’s cooking- but I’m looking forward to not having to cook, actually. Last year- I did it when I was pregnant with Beau- what was I thinking?!!! Maybe that is why I am ok with taking a break this year.

sounds like your thanksgiving is going to be yummy! we have traditional thanksgiving also: turkey, gravy, cranberry sauce, stuffing, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes. i usually make a fancier version of pumpkin pie (like a pumpkin cheesecake, etc.) this year i am going to make a pumpkin trifle.

okay, off to check out what ya’ll are eating this week :)

Vegetarian lasagna alfredo. We call it Holiday lasagna magnifico. And a mediterannean salad with greens, cranberries, raisins, almonds, bell pepper, feta and balsamic vinegar. Hummus and pita, of course.Mediterranean pizza thingies…No turkey in this house, LOL

My new favorite from last year – cut 2 pounds sweet potatoes into 1 inch cubes, toss with 1/3 cup olive oil and two envelopes onion soup mix. Roast at 450 for 40-50 minutes. Even better if you slice the potatoes thinly instead.
