Here’s a little sample of the double stockinette, it’s the same on both sides. Quite fantastic if I do say so myself.
Sorry for the poor pic quality.
And I’ve been churning out hats like a mad woman. The first two are the Hot Head pattern from Stitch n Bitch. The last is a variation of Kims Hats from Last Minute Knitted Gifts and the top of the hat.
Only two hats, one scarf and one poncho to go. Do you think I’ll make it?
Maybe I’m the only who didn’t know this, but I’m so excited to discover how to knit double sided stockinette with out using circular needles!
Here is the thread on Craftster and the tutorial. And the instructional video on diynet.
This is the best thing EVAR.
This morning when I was headed to the office, it was really foggy outside. We don’t get fog here very often, but it always reminds me of when we were in Germany.
There was a slight breeze and the frost was blowing off the trees. As the frost sprinkled down on me it reflected the sunlight like millions of tiny sun rays. I felt like I was standing in a glitter cloud. What a rare, perfect moment. I wish I could have taken a picture.
I’ve finally got my tiny little shopping cart up. Check it out and let me know what you think.
You should be proud, look at all the stuff I did this week!
First off, the kitchen floor (I didn’t do all this myself of course.)
Before
Close up of the floor before
After
I made 25 tubes of lip balm and they’re already sold.
I knit this scarf for myself. This will soon be avaliable to purchase.
I finished this poncho for my cousins daughter, Taylor. I had Madison try it on to see how it would fit Taylor and now I have to make her one too.
And finally, a hat for my step sister in law to be.
Thanksgiving we made the mistake of letting Eden watch the latest Harry Potter. It was much scarier than the first two. There were many times that we had to cover Eden’s eyes.
So, she is STILL talking about Harry Pottomus and the mean hand. That kid has the best memory. She was telling me yesterday all about the mean tree and the girl and the mean dog that was really nice being mean to the boy. But mostly it’s about the mean hand (of the dementors). Yes we definetly shouldn’t have let her watch it.
For those of you Harry fans out there, here’s a link to a pattern for the harry potter scarf. I wish I wouldn’t have told my sister about this because I could have made it for her. I may still…. hmm. (Ashley, don’t read that.)
Jim’s quote of the week:
(Spoken to the new Norelco Razor commercial on televison) “Geeze. It’s just a razor, not a penis enhancer!”
I’ve mentioned Jim’s quazi Jewish upbringing before and that means no Christmas. When I tell people that I don’t celebrate Christmas, they look at me like I’ve comitted the most retched sin. But then I ask them, “Would you give up Christmas for the person you love?” and they seem to get over it. Yes, sometimes it’s hard, I do love me some Christmas music, but for the most part it’s not too bad. The other day I was thinking that even if I did want a Christmas tree, there would be no way that I could have one. Honor would have the thing down and destroyed in about 3.6 seconds.
We go every year to my mom’s on Christmas day and I can still exchange gifts with my family which makes things easier, but I don’t want my children to feel like they’re missing out during this time of year. Enjoying the season has been kind of interesting with scrooge around and I’ve had to learn to be creative. (The only way I can get him to cheer up about Christmas is to remind him about the eggnog. He loves eggnog.) SOOO, I’ve convinced Jim to look into Hanukkah and we’ve decided to observe it this year. I think it’s an inspiring story and the lesson of a people standing apart for what they believe in is an important one to teach our children. I also feel that it’s important to have family traditions and I’m excited to be starting a new one with my family.
Here are a few links that I’ve found for yummy hanukkah treats and goodies.

Joelene alerted me that the Winter Knitty is up. As if I needed more of a reason to knit!
